Wish you all a happy new year

When I bid good bye to 2011, I wish you all very very happy and prosperous New Year. I thank all those who wished me. Even though we do not know personally otherwise, I am very happy that I have so many well wishers.

Looking back, I can feel proud, that, I made many readers happy. It does go to my shoulders instead of my head. It gives me pleasure, when I make somebody happy and I will continue to do it, even though there are constraints of time , good health etc. I will be completing 70 years on coming 7th, and  only my mental strength than the physical strength helped me to complete 578 postings this year. I always love to feel young, and mails and comments from you readers make me to feel young and inspire to do more postings. I have crossed 1500 postings since I started this blog in 2008.

Being a KG student in computer, only the inspiring mails and comments from you, help me to turn this blog  interesting. More than that, the contributions from many of you, to make this blog interesting to read,  play a major role in its success. It was my childhood ambition to run a magazine and this blog turned to be a "Readers Digest" like, because of contributions from you all on various subjects.

This blog is viewed at an average of more than 1200 every day from all corners of the world. It has got 12,230 music files and downloading is reaching 30,00,000 mark. The number of registered followers is just 2 short of 350. This has got 278 Carnatic music concerts and hope to complete 400 by end of 2012

I thank all those who send interesting articles, photos/images and mainly those who contributed lot of music. Many have offered to contribute more, and I only wish, I have strength and time  to post all those in my collection and I love to do it.

As one of  the sales message goes "If there is any defect, tell me, and if you find it interesting tell your friends and realtives"

Once again with greetings I wish you all a very very happy and prosperous new year , and I will be very happy if this blog contributes a portion of that happiness.

Apparama bhakthi by Madurai Mani Iyer

On 22nd December 2011 Sri. T. V. Sankarqanarayanan, in his concert at Partha sarathyswani sabha on the eve of centenary year of  Madurai Mani Iyer sang most of his songs. When he was about to sing "Apparaama bhakthi" He said, " this is Maama's favourite song and I will try my best." Mr. Bhaskaran gave an opportunity by posting this in the face book. Hence I was also inspired to share with you.

Incredible

Where two oceans meet... but do not mix! INCREDIBLE AND SIMPLY MIND-BLOWING!!!

These two bodies of water were merging in the middle of The Gulf of Alaska and there was a foam developing only at their junction. It is a result of the melting glaciers being composed of fresh water and the ocean has a higher percentage of salt causing the two bodies of water to have different densities and therefore makes it more difficult to mix. Photograph by Kent Smith.

Periyar is a 160 year old dam constructed with lime mixture with a total height of 160ft. or so.
British rulers of Madras State had given the life of the dam as 100 years and the agreement with Travancore Maharaja was signed for 99 years. How this changed to 999 years is a mystery as the entire matter was handled by Madras Presidency.

The only other masonry dam of this size and structure was demolished and rebuilt 25 years back somewhere else in the World. Grand Anicut cannot be called a dam but a barrage of insignificant height, and no pressure is caused on the structure as in large dams.

The frequent earthquakes in the dam area has created anxiety in Kerala. If it collapses, the 100 ft. high wall of water would rush down to Idukki dam carrying with it the trees, houses and structures with immense force that might cause collapse of the Idukki dam too and over 75 lakh people living in three districts might be drowned and swept away to sea, the City of Kochi gettiung submerged in 7ft. high waters.

Theoretically, the water of Periyar could be accommodated by Idukki if it is drained to it slowly. But the collapse and 100 ft. high wall of water will carry all debris of huge trees..etc. that might impact the Idukki to collapse.

Why should TN object to a new Dam? TN will continue to get water as before during the construction of the new dam a few hundred metres down the stream. Kerala assures suppy of the same quantity of water from the new dam on commissioning to TN. Entire expenses would be borne by Kerala and Central grants.

Perhaps sanity should prevail over the fissiparious actions seen now in creating venomous animosity between Tamils and Malayalees, by wily Politicians, totally unwarranted.

Follow your heart, it is smarter than you think

Recently, Neurophysicists have been astonished to discover that the Heart is more an organ of intelligence, than (merely) the bodies' main pumping station. More than half of the Heart is actually composed of neurons of the very same nature as those that make up the cerebral system. Joseph Chilton-Pearce, author of The Biology of Transcendence, calls it "the major biological apparatus within us and the seat of our greatest intelligence."
The Heart is also the source of the body's strongest electromagnetic field. Each heart cell is unique in that it not only pulsates in synchrony with all the other heart cells, but also produces an electromagnetic signal that radiates out beyond the cell. An EEG that measures brain waves shows that the electromagnetic signals from the heart are so much stronger than brain waves, that a reading of the heart's frequency spectrum can be taken from three feet away from the body...without placing electrodes on it!
The Heart's electromagnetic frequency arcs out from the Heart and back in the form of a torus field. The axis of this Heart torus extends from the pelvic floor to the top of the skull, and the whole field is holographic, meaning that information about it can be read from each and every point in the torus.
The Hearts' torus electromagnetic field is not the only source that emits this type of electromagnetic field. Every atom emits the same torus field. The Earth is also at the center of a torus, so is the solar system and even our galaxy...and all are holographic. Scientists believe there is a good possibility that there is only one universal torus encompassing an infinite number of interacting, holographic tori within its spectrum. Because electromagnetic torus fields are holographic, it is more than likely that the sum total of our Universe is present within the frequency spectrum of a single torus.
This means that each one of us is connected to the entire Universe and as such, can access all the information within it at any given moment. When we get quiet and access what we hold in our Hearts, we are literally connecting to the limitless supply and Wisdom of the Universe, thereby enabling what we perceive as "miracles" to enter into our lives.
When we disconnect and shut down the Heart's innate wisdom of Love-based thinking, the ego-based intellect takes over and operates independently of the Heart, and we revert to a survival mentality based on fear, greed, power, and control. In this way, we come to believe that we are separate, our perception of life shifts into one of limitation and scarcity, and one in which we must fight in order to survive. This amazing organ, that we often time ignore, neglect and build walls around, is where we can find our strength, our faith, our courage and our compassion, enabling our higher emotional intelligence that can, if we allow it, guide us through our lives.
We must now switch the gears out of the fear-based mental state that we have been taught to believe in, and move into Heart Centered living. For this transformation to take place, one must learn to meditate, "go into your Heart" and access the inner wisdom of the Universe. It is the only way, it is THE WAY. As each one of us begins this quiet revolution of living from the Heart, we will begin to see it reflected in our lives and in our World. This is how each one of us will create change in the world, create Peace, create Harmony and Balance, and in this way, will we all create the New World Paradigm of Heaven on Earth.
Rotating Heart
The heart is also the first organ that is being formed in the womb. The rest comes later

...that fear is one of the main sources of cruelty. To
conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.

Bertrand Russell said that, and he was right. Elisabeth
Kubler-Ross said, "Fear and guilt are the only enemies
of man." She was right, too. And Franklin Roosevelt
famously said, "We have nothing to fear but fear
itself."

Ten Point Program for happy Family

Dada Vaswani, head of Sadhu Vaswani
Mission is a great Philanthropist, Philosopher, Author, Poet and a
thrilling international speaker.   During his last visit to Chicago he
presented at Chinmaya Mission Chicago a talk on "Art of Happy Home and
Family".  During his talk he gave ten point practical advise for house
holder to make the home a happy home.  He concentrated on developing the
understanding for the others (Not with mind but with heart).

Here are excerpts of the ten points:

1. Avoid the next quarrel: Never lose temper at the same time. Don't let the sun set on your
quarrels (Never prolong fights if at all started). It is OK to say "I am sorry"

2. Do not expect perfection from your spouse: Marriage is coming together of two imperfect beings. Don't expect wife or husband to like this or that, accept them as they are.

3. Be a Good Listener:  Think before speaking, it is a good idea to weigh before you speak. You are master of unspoken words but slave of spoken words. Better than
listening from ear is listening through mind (with attention) and better than that is listening from heart.

4. Be a good forgiver: Some people forgive but they keep the memory alive or they forgive
conditionally. Forgiveness should be complete and unconditional.

5. Grow in the spirit of humility: Be humble. Egos bring arrogance which divide and separate people.

6. Learn the art of appreciation: We all like to be appreciated. Always appreciate in front of others.
Never criticize in a company of friends and relatives, you will get
opportunities in privacy.

7. Do not argue: Winning love and friendship is far greater than winning an argument. It is OK
to discuss with a open mind. Learn to win love and affection rather than arguments.

8. Develop healthy sense of humor: Learn to laugh and be cheerful. It is a great tonic for healthy living
and being accepted by friends. It is important to laugh with others and
NOT at others.

9. Always lend a helpful hand: You will win over if you have this attitude of offering a helpful hand with or without asking.

10. Bring GOD back into your home: This is one of the most important one. Have a common time for prayers. It
brings families together. Families that pray together stays together.
