Sandhya Thandava
Shiva doing Sandhya Tandava
Shiva's evening dance - Sandhya Tandava in the Kailasa, with a divine chorus is described as follows in the Siva Pradosha Stotra. "Placing the Mother of the Three Worlds - Parvathi, upon a golden throne, studded with precious gems, Sulapani dances on the heights of Kailasa, and all the gods gather around Him."
"Sarasvati plays on the veena, Indra on the flute, Brahma holds the time-marking cymbals, Lakshmi begins a song, Vishnu plays on a drum, and all the gods stand round."
"Gandharvas, Yakshas, Patagas, Uragas, Siddhas, Sadhyas, Vidhyadharas, Amaras, Apsaras and all the beings dwelling in the three worlds assemble there to witness the celestial dance and hear the music of the divine choir at the hour of twilight." He is not on Apasmara purusha but on lotus and dressed in all jewellery. All the instrumentalists depicted in the panel at the base are divine forms with prabhavali. As described in Pradosha stotram, Brahma holds the time marking cymbals, Vishnu plays drum, and Indra play on flute. Lakshmi sings and Saraswati plays on Vina (which is missing in this panel). Bhringi is also dancing here. Regarding the posture, after standing in mandala posture, left leg is lifted to the knee level of right leg and foot turned up and the leg posture is called Aindra sthanaka. In his multiple hands he is holding - Trishula, Arrow, Khadga, Akshamala (Abhaya hastha), Kapala (Soma bowl), Sarpa, Khatwanga (Skull topped club), Shield, and Bow. One of the right hands is broken. One of the right middle hand and the top left hand is held in tribhanga (held freely). His ears are adorned with sarpakundala and his head with a Kirita. He is bejeweled with various ornaments like - necklaces, bangles, armlets, anklets and finger rings.

Smt. Vani Jairam's first and introduction programme
I had the privilege of being founder secretary of APSARAS, who introduced Smt. Vani Jayaram to Madras for the first time, which was stepping stone for her popularity in All India Level. Here are some photos of the sweet memories. This programme was conducted for two days at Music Academy, and it happened to be house full on both the days. We invited Sri. M.S. Viswanathan, as chief guest and that is the reason for "Malligai En Mannan Mayangum" and rest is History.
Sri V. Gopalakrishnan, Actor, was the Master of ceremony on that day, as he had this crown for many of our programmes
I am ( second from the left) with our President Sri M.A.M. Ramaswamy with Vani's poster on the background. ( Madam Jayalaitha, who became Chief Minister of Tamilnadu later was our Vice President).I am giving vote of thanks in the 3rd photo and in 4th,Vani honouring the Artist Bharani for his wonderful work in the poster, which was appreciated by "Kumudam" as the best poster of the week ( which we continued to have many weeks ) and appreciated by Rajesh Khanna and he went and told her " Vaniji. Aap ka face poora madras city mein chamakraa hai" even before her landing at Madras
I am welcoming Sri M.S.V (4th photo)
I am sitting in the centre of sitting row along with S.K. Rajagopal. joint secretary, who dragged me into this venture i.e APSARAS
