..that home really is where the heart is. And if your heart
is centered on God, you are 'safe at home' everywhere.

In this day and time of continuing change, many people
find themselves moving a great deal, and constantly
having to try to make yet one more place "like home."

Yet home is a quality you bring to a place, not a quality
that a place brings to you. Let yourself feel at home
anywhere and people everywhere will welcome you
always. And isn't a place where you are always
welcome...'home'?

So feel good where you are right now. That's mastery.

...that it is not necessary for you to report everyone's
mistakes to them, much less to give them corrections.

It can be difficult, when you think you know a better way
to door say something, to keep that to yourself.  But try.
Unless someone's life or safety depends on it, do try.

You would not welcome someone else pointing out
your own misstep, orless-than-totally-efficient approach
to something. Why point it out to them? Do you see it as
your duty in life to make sure that all goes the way you
think it 'should'?

That would be an inaccurate assessment of your soul's
grander purpose.

Texting Out of Context

Wife texts husband on a cold winter's morning: "Windows frozen."
Husband texts back: "Pour some lukewarm water over it."
Wife texts back 5 minutes later: "Computer completely screwed up now."

...that fears are nothing more than states of  mind.

Napoleon Hill said that, and he was right. The moment
you move into fear over something ask yourself, "Why
am I making this real? What is there inside of me that
drives me to do this?"

There is a huge difference between fear and caution.
Caution moves forward with care, fear stands still,
paralyzed. Avoid paralysis at all cost. It is not good
for the soul -- and it gets you nowhere.

....that the greatest waste in the world is the difference
between what we are and what we could become.

Ben Herbster said that, and he was right. If you know
what you could become, it would leave you breathless.
Or maybe you do know...and are just waiting to catch
your breath.

Okay, then. Rest for a while. Catch your breath. Yet
move as soon as you can, yes? Your soul awaits what
you could become.

What a perfect reflection snap !

...that that the day of your birth was a wonderful day for
all who now know you -- and even for all of humanity.

Why? Because you are so incredibly special. Because
you are Love, personified. Wisdom, expressed. Caring
and Compassion, demonstrated.  Courage, revealed.

Because you are Humanity At Its Best. They don't get
any better than you. Truly. And if you do not know this,
then you do not know Who and What You Are.
So today, create a way to know that.

Madam, Chief Minister !!

I am touring for the past two months to the various parts of Tamilnadu. The public are so furious, on account of power supply. If there is an election today, you will not get a single vote, after Tambaram to your party. It is high time you take over the electricity ministry and work 24 x 7 on that. Leave aside the anger of public, it is not fair to let people suffer like this and any amount of blaming others, will neither help to your image and efficiency nor your party.

The "Charlie bit my finger" video is the most viewed you tube submission of all time at 205,500,000 views. Collectively, three and half years have been spent watching this video (And this is not the latest figure, but five years ago))

Guess What This Is?

Hint: the picture was taken in 1956.
Answer...
It's a hard disk drive back in 1956...with 5 MB of storage.
In September 1956, IBM launched the 305 RAMAC, the first
'SUPER' computer with a hard disk drive (HDD).
The HDD weighed over a ton and stored a 'whopping' 5 MB
of data.
So do you appreciate your iPhone 5 with 32 GB of memory

When I read this "kavidhai" I was alone. My body and mind were so excited, that I felt like sharing with somebody. How a truth about our Indian girls is so deeply expressed in such simple words. Hats off to the poet. I am yet to get out of the impact and I will never, since this was my feeling all along my life.

Sir, 9.87/km is damn cheap. Last week I had to travel from Chennai Central to Arumbakam - I think that the distance should be max. 8Kms. It was around 5 in the morning - I went to the prepaid auto stand (thinking that it will be like in Bangalore) - and they gave me a slip for Rs.147.00(their token charge was Rs.3.00). The auto driver told me that I had to pay night charge of Rs.30.00 also. After a lot of heated arguments, I did not pay that 30.00 rupees. Of course no one is going to search for all the exact change and so I gave 150.00 and plus the 3.00 the auto fare will work out to Rs.19.00+ On my return I took the bus and it was only Rs.6.00! I fainted. - Hema

At Chennai, the following rates apply:
Minimum: Rs.40 ( less than 1 km.)
Senior citizens : alone Rs.70
Senior Citizens with a bag or a kid Rs.100
Night Time: Rs.150

per km.charges:
Rs.20 /- ( chennai central to Arumbakkam is really 8.6 kms.)

petrol costs nearly Rs.70 to Rs.75
usually our autos, the drivers say, run only 5 to 7 kms for 1 litre of petrol.

apart from this there is usual bata for uniforms.

What else can these poor auto drivers do?

Pity them !

It is a great painting though, but what you have posted here is the photo!

Cricket in India

The story goes like this. It was the last week of December, 1960, and India were playing Pakistan at the Brabourne Stadium. On the second morning of the match, while some forty thousand people crowded into Brabourne, a smaller but not less intense crowd gathered in an Irani restaurant outside. This eatery had been chosen by Dr Lohia for a press conference.

To a group of assembled journalists, the good doctor thundered on about how the game of cricket symbolized our continuing colonisalism, and how the last Englishman to rule India was complicit in this. Throw out Nehru, he said, and we can all happily start playing kabaddi.

The scribes departed, to file their stories. My informant is the only person still living who saw what happened next. Apparently, after the journalists had all gone, Dr Lohia walked across to the nearest paanwallah, asked for a jodi of his favourite ek sau bis kanauji, and then continued: ‘Kya Hanif out ho gaya kya?’ The answer came back, 'No, Hanif Mohammed is still batting."

Laugh ! It is good for health

A man enters heaven and sees a huge wall full of clocks. He asks an angel,
"What are these for?" "These are Lie Clocks, every person has a Lie Clock.
Whenever you lie on earth, the clock moves", the angel says.

The man points to a static clock and asks "Whose clock is this?" "It's Swami Vivekananda's. It's never moved, shows that he never told a lie", says the angel.

The curious man asks "Where do you have the Indian politician's clocks?" The angel replies "
They're kept in our offices. We use them as table fans."

Muthai tharu

Arunagirinaadhar attempts suicide by jumping off a temple tower when Lord Muruga disguised as a Brahmin saves him, shows him the path of devotion and initiates him to compose the Thiruppugazh, an anthology of songs dedicated to Lord Muruga.
The first offering begins with ‘Muthai Tharu.’ This hymn with tongue-twisting lyrics in Tamil is difficult even to read at leisure and TMS created history by recording it in a single ‘take’! Composed in raga Shanmughapriya, the music directors were G. Ramanathan and T.R. Papa who were big names in those days. Soundararajan recalls that the tune was composed by Papa, and before the recording he called on the religious savant Kripananda Variar who translated every word of the song and TMS had rehearsals for an entire day before he recorded it. An amazing performance indeed and, not surprisingly, the song is one of the immortal melodies of Tamil Cinema.

"Kaayaadha kaanagaththe" is the famous song in Sri Valli drama which S.G. Kittappa was also staging and made this song very popular. Hence I think when people started recording his songs this would have been first choice. T.R. Mahalingam did render this song. His inspiration was SGK.
