Believe it or not ?

Unusual 'Mushroom rock' (also called Pedestal rock) in Tamanrasset, Saharian desert, Algeria.
This naturally occurring rock is formed as a result of wind erosion and weathering and this unique shape is due to the different rate of wind erosion at the top and bottom of the rock.

History repeats itself. Yes whenever Sachin scores century India has hardly won - once again we have lost to Bangladesh

Dear Mr. Bhaskaran,
Mr. Varadarajan was positive in his thoughts. You are negative. Has not Sachin scored centuries against Australia, South Africa or England.? He is the only player now, who scored centuries in both the formats, against every cricket playing country.

He did not score one day century only against Bangladesh. He did that also by scoring the 100th century there.

Tendulkar was not responsible for the defeat against Bangladesh today. Inefficient bowlers, insipid captaincy are the cause for the loss. Let us feel proud that we had such a noble, passionate, perseverant and humble cricketer this country had. And for generations to come nobody is going to achieve this in the whole world.

Dear Mr Baskaran,

Please remember that none of the earlier one day hundreds of Sachin were against Bangladesh, but against top teams. If you feel Bangladesh has a weak cricket team, than you must go to one-day records of other top batsmen, exclude their hundreds made against Bangladesh also. Even after this, Sachin will still come up tops by quite a good amount.

Everytime people criticise him, Sachin reminds them that he is still very good, taking into consideration his age

Incredible

Where two oceans meet... but do not mix! INCREDIBLE AND SIMPLY MIND-BLOWING!!!

These two bodies of water were merging in the middle of The Gulf of Alaska and there was a foam developing only at their junction. It is a result of the melting glaciers being composed of fresh water and the ocean has a higher percentage of salt causing the two bodies of water to have different densities and therefore makes it more difficult to mix. Photograph by Kent Smith.

I was the photographer of this image while in Alaska. You can read more about it here http://www.flickr.com/photos/kentsmith9/4955772693/in/set-72157622762300631/ . For those who do not believe the image is real, here are the other shots that lead up to that moment and one after we passed it http://www.flickr.com/photos/kentsmith9/6602530369/in/photostream/

In other places....Its just two salt water bodies that meet..,

Awesome - Try this out

Have you ever wondered why should the wedding ring be worn on the Ring finger?
There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese.....
  Thumb represents your Parents
Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings
Middle finger represents your-Self
Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner
and the Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back
Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip
(As shown in the figure below):
 http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/4535/att8462240.jpg

Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.

Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)... ., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)... ., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.

Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse).
You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT....., because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives
through thick and thin!!

my dad told me when I inched forward to wear a ring on my would-be wife on the day of betrothal in 1968 and asked me to try it out. I was quite surprised to try and see the result. He added that his dad told him this chinese proverb in 1932 when he got married. subburathinam

Instead of your middle fingers, if you bend your index fingers back to back you won't be able to separate your middle fingers only. Does that mean anything? :-)

Sir, I tried myself and asked my wife to try this. But both cannot separate the ring fingers. Some of my family members tried and some of my friends tried. But no 100% result. What is the significance in both attempts? K V Ramani, Chennai
