Concert - Radha Jayalakshmi
Some of you may already know this but I thought it is worth posting.
What is the difference between ( http:// ) and ( https:// )
The main difference between http:// and https:// is: it's all about keeping you secure.
HTTP:// stands for Hyper Text Transport Protocol,
Which is just a fancy way of saying it's a protocol (a language, in a manner of speaking)
for information to be passed back and forth between web servers and clients.
The important thing is the letter "S".
This is what makes the difference between http:// and https://.
The "S" (big surprise) stands for "Secure".
If you visit a website or webpage, and look at the address in the web browser, it will likely begin with the following: http://.
This means that the website is talking to your browser using the regular unsecured language. In other words, it is possible for someone to "eavesdrop" on your computer's conversation with the website. If you fill out a form on the website, someone might see the information you send to that site.
This is why you neverever enter your credit card number in an http:// website !
But if the web address begins with https://, that basically means your computer is talking to the website in a secure code that no one can eavesdrop on.
You understand why this is so important, right?
If a website ever asks you to enter your credit card information, you should automatically look to see if the web address begins with https://.
If it doesn't, do NOT enter sensitive information like a credit card number.

My diary - 1st July 2010
I have added more than 200 songs under the labels of "Maharajpuram Santhananam" 1, 2, & 3 apart from 80 songs in Tamil alone. Go to "Maharajapuram Santhanam" and you will find four labels with Maharajapuram Santhanam 3 with 202 songs Maharajapuram Santhanam 2 with 49 songs, and Maharajpuram Santhanam 1 with 40 songs and Maharajpuram Santhanam - Tamil songs with 80. Since many of you may not be looking into these additions, I have mentioned it here. Please enjoy.
With reference to conversion of songs from one format to the other, particularly from w4a to mp3 many readers have suggested many links. Here is one for those who require this facility.
Comment from Mr. Venkat :
Hello sir,
Your other readers can use this free software (GNU General Public License) to convert wma or m4a to mp3. I have used it for years.
http://www.bonkenc.org/
BonkEnc is a free audio converter and CD ripper which integrates various popular formats and encoders. It currently supports MP3, MP4/M4A, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, AAC and Bonk files.
and this was a reply from one of the readers
Dear Mr.Hariharan,
As suggested by Mr.Venkat in his comments I downloaded the software from http://download.cnet.com
and have converted two kirtanas in Bhupalam ( S.No1 and 4) in ur blog. I shl try to convert others over a period.
I could not thank Mr.Venkat for his suggestion as I do not hv his ID. I m sending this thro this mail, as I could not find a facility for upload in the comments of ur blog.
Regards
Ananthanarayanan
Hope this will be useful to others also.
This was an additional comment from Ms. Neeraja:
Hello Mama,
This is in response to Mr. Bhaskaran's question. There is a software called Youtube downloader and its free to download. It downloads youtube videos and lets u convert it into any format u want..mp4 to mp3, itunes, wma etc. I have been using it for 3 years now and have had no problems.
regards,
Neeraja Murari

Learn a lesson with smile
A new vacuum cleaner salesman knocked on the door on the First house of the street.
A tall lady answered the door.
Before she could speak, the enthusiastic salesman barged into the living room and opened a big black plastic bag and poured all the cow droppings onto the carpet.
"Madam, if I could not clean this up within 5 minutes with the use of this new
powerful Vacuum cleaner, I will EAT all this dung!" exclaimed the eager salesman.
"Do you need chilly sauce or ketchup with that" .asked the lady.
The bewildered salesman asked, "Why, madam?"
"There's no electricity in the house..." said the lady

Appaa
This was a fantastic matter contributed by Mr. Radhakrishnan. However we may write and speak in English, when you read this in Tamil there is "life" உயிர் (ஜீவன்) in this. After reading this I strongly feel like advocating tamil in music. To be frank, I never enjoyed any song as much as "Enna dhavam seidhanai"என்ன தவம் செய்தனை. What a Thamizh semmozhi maanaadu could not do to me was done by these tamil lines

Harisankar said...- Cannot read tamil but thought I would contribute this info. The last verse of the first hymn of the rig veda extolls the importance of the duties of the father.
'Sa Na Pitheva Sunavegne Soopayano Bhava. Sa Chashwa na Swastaye'
translates to 'O Agni Be accessible to me/us as a father to a son, for our/my well being'
