Srirangam few years back

Some of the nice and rare photos of Srirangam of yesteryears. I am sure many like me will become younger by 30 or 40 years

Singaara velane Deva by S. Janaki

For the benefit of those, particularly younger generation who have not seen/heard the original song, I post that also here. And, ofcourse, Nadaswaram was by Karukurichi Arunachalam ! What an amount of expressions by Ms. Saavithri, particularly reaction expression during the swarams repeated by Nadaswaram.

singara velanai deva-

Winner of Airtel Super singer Junior 2 - 2010

I am posting this for all those who missed it in the TV and those in foreign countries who could not have access to Vijay TV. Whatever may be the opinions of public in giving the award to Ms. Alka Ajeeth, I feel she deserves the award at least for this particular performance.

Asia net - Idea star singer 5th July 2010

Please see/listen to this performance by Anju Joseph - a young christian girl. She has no background in carnatic music, but appears to have learnt this in 5 days! If you feel the continuation is disturbing because of the buffering, please put it on pause and attend to some other work, and come back to listen after the completion. Now you will be able to see and listen without breaks. Please enjoy.

Saras said...: Amazing performance. It is unbelievable to see a small girl sing Thodi raaga so effortlessly, without any formal tutelege in carnatic music, with full accompaniments! Thanks for sharing this with us.

இவர் அதீத திறமையை உணரமுடிந்தது.
எனினும் பெரிய பயிற்சியின்றி கர்நாடக இசையில் இவ்வளவு நிதானமாகப் பாடுவது , இது கொடையே!
