Srirangam few years back

Some of the nice and rare photos of Srirangam of yesteryears. I am sure many like me will become younger by 30 or 40 years

My favourite dance songs in movies

As I was going through You tube, I found these interesting dance sequences. I thought some of you may be interested.

Singaara velane Deva by S. Janaki

For the benefit of those, particularly younger generation who have not seen/heard the original song, I post that also here. And, ofcourse, Nadaswaram was by Karukurichi Arunachalam ! What an amount of expressions by Ms. Saavithri, particularly reaction expression during the swarams repeated by Nadaswaram.

Winner of Airtel Super singer Junior 2 - 2010

I am posting this for all those who missed it in the TV and those in foreign countries who could not have access to Vijay TV. Whatever may be the opinions of public in giving the award to Ms. Alka Ajeeth, I feel she deserves the award at least for this particular performance.

Gopal said...: Brilliant. the best I have heard next to the original. The last line that she sung does not seem to be there in the original and it doesnt fit in. Perhaps she got carried away by the audience getting up to applaud her.
