Stotra to excel in studies

http://img858.imageshack.us/img858/7683/saraswativeena.jpg
Given below is the Vak Saraswati Hridaya Stavah which is Brahma Prokta. The
presiding deity of this Stotra is Vak Saraswati rupa Devi Sarada. This stotra
is chanted by the brahmacharis who are into Veda Vidya and Sastra Adhyayana.
Specially, Veda Vidyarthis who are learning Veda, Tarka, Mimamsa, Vedanta, this
stotram is VERY ESSENTIAL for them to excel in studies. Regular parayana of
this stotra bestows sharp memory, razor sharp intelligence, analytical skills,
victory in sastra charcha (polemics and debates). This is quite popular among
the closed circles of Sarada Upasakas of Kashmir and in Sringeri.

This stotra was given to me by Brahmasri Gollapudi Gopalakrishna Sastry, who was
a very close friend of my gurunatha. Shri Gopala Krishna Sastry was the 1st
guru of Shri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamigal of Sringeri. He taught swamigal Tarka,
Vedanta and Sutra Bhashya in Narasimha Vana. Later on Abhinava Tirtha Swamigal
taught the advanced sciences to Sannidhanam.

This stotra is the favorite of both my gurunatha and Gopalakrishna Sastry. Shri
Gopala Krishna Sastry used to reside in Sringeri and later on shifted his
residence to Hyderabad. Now he is no more. A few words on him. Shri Gopala
Krishna Sastry, learnt Tarka, Vyakarana, Mimamsa, Kavya, Sankara Advaita and
Kashmir Trika Siddhanta (entire Tantraloka) from Brahmasri Mahamahopadhyaya
Dravida Rajeshwara Sastry of Kasi. Initiated into Srividya Upasana by Brahmasri
Tadepalli Raghavananarayana Sastry of Chandavolu. Right from childhood, he was
brought up under the personal care of Chandrasekhara Bharati Swamigal.
Currently, the grandson of Dravida Rajeswara Sastry is residing in Chennai. His
name is Mani Dravida Sastrigal.

It is my fortune that Gopalakrishna Sastry used to reside next to our street in
Hyderabad. Now he is no more. This stotram is the kripa bhiksha of this great
personality.

The components of happiness are quite simple. Happiness is gentleness, peace, concentration, simplicity, forgiveness, humor, fearlessness, trust, and now. In its true form each quality includes all the rest, for happiness is whole, and one feels whole when genuinely happy.

My diary 21st March 2011

http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/4386/att9324467.jpg
There were some files left, under the label "THIRUPPAAVAI" - Velukudi Krishnan. I have added those files numbering 88 to 94. I am sorry for the omission.

Mr. Naveen Kumar was requesting for the Cine song "Kaaththiruppaan kamala kannan" from the film "Uthamaputhiran" rendered by P.Leela. I have uploaded the same under the label "Cine song" with the date of uploading. I will be adding some more songs here every now and then with the date of uploading to enable you to locate them as not downloaded and download now. So, I request you to check up here every now and then for fresh songs.

There are some reports from readers about some missing files. I am trying to locate those missing files and re upload.  Some times , it may take longer time. Readers are requested to bear with me.

Of course, I may be more prompt, once the world cup is over. It does disturb my concentration and my time for blog. Hope you will pardon me.

Wasting food !!-----please read its my humble request

http://img859.imageshack.us/img859/5204/southindianthalifood1.jpg

Germany is a highly industrialized country. It produces top brands like Benz, BMW, Siemens etc. The nuclear reactor pump is made in a small town in this country.
In such a country, many will think its people lead a luxurious life. At least that was my impression before my study trip.

When I arrived at Hamburg , my colleagues who work in Hamburg arranged a welcome party for me in a restaurant. As we walked into the restaurant, we noticed that a lot of tables were empty. There was a table where a young couple was having their meal. There were only two dishes and two cans of  beer on the table. I wondered if such simple meal could be romantic, and  whether the girl will leave this stingy guy.

There were a few old ladies on another table. When a dish is served, the waiter would distribute the food for them, and they would finish every bit of the food on their plates.

We did not pay much attention to them, as we were looking forward to the dishes we ordered. As we were hungry, our local colleague ordered more food for us.

As the restaurant was quiet, the food came quite fast. Since there were other activities arranged for us, we did not spend much time dining. When we left, there was still about one third of unconsumed food on the table.

When we were leaving the restaurant, we heard someone calling us. We noticed the old ladies in the restaurant were talking about us to the restaurant owner. When they spoke to us in English, we understood that they were unhappy about us wasting so much food. We immediately felt that  they were really being too busybody.

"We paid for our food, it is none of your business how much food we left behind," my colleague Gui told the old ladies.

The old ladies were furious. One of them immediately took her hand phone out and made a call to someone. After a while, a man in uniform from the Social Security organization arrived. Upon knowing  what the dispute was, he issued us a 50 Mark fine.

We all kept quiet. The local colleague took out a 50 Mark note and repeatedly apologized to the officer.

The officer told us in a stern voice, "ORDER WHAT YOU CAN CONSUME, MONEY IS YOURS BUT RESOURCES BELONG TO THE SOCIETY. THERE ARE MANY OTHERS IN THE WORLD WHO ARE FACING SHORTAGE OF RESOURCES. YOU HAVE  NO REASON TO WASTE RESOURCES.´”

Our face turned red. We all agreed with him in our hearts. The mindset of people of this rich country put all of us to shame. WE REALLY NEED TO REFLECT ON THIS. We are from  country which is not very rich in resources. To save face, we order large quantity and also waste food when we give others a treat. THIS LESSON TAUGHT US A LESSON TO THINK SERIOUSLY ABOUT CHANGING OUR BAD HABITS.

My colleague Photostatted the fine ticket and gave a copy to each of us as a souvenir. All of us kept it and pasted on our wall to remind us that we shall never be wasteful.
