Imitinef Mercilet - Free Blood Cancer Medicine Advice Message

Outline Message advises recipients that "Imitinef Mercilet", a medicine that cures blood cancer, is available free of charge from the Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai, India. Brief Analysis The Adyar Cancer Institute is a real health facility. "Imitinef Mercilet" is apparently an alternative spelling of the cancer drug, Imatinib mesylate. It is true that Imatinib (or "Imitinef") is available free of charge for patients who have been admitted to the Adyar Cancer Institute hospital for cancer treatment. However, the Institute is not handing out the drug freely to all as suggested in the message. Moreover, the drug does not actually cure all blood cancers as claimed in the message.

Do not drive your kid to this.................

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7897/babyuz.jpg

I was strolling in the gardens of an insane asylum when I met a young man who was reading a philosophy book.

His behavior and his evident good health made him stand out from the other inmates.

I sat down beside him and asked:

‘What are you doing here?’

He looked at me, surprised. But seeing that I was not one of the doctors, he replied:

‘It’s very simple. My father, a brilliant lawyer, wanted me to be like him.

“My uncle, who owns a large emporium, hoped I would follow his example.

“My mother wanted me to be the image of her beloved father.

“My sister always set her husband before me as an example of the successful man.

“My brother tried to train me up to be a fine athlete like himself.

“And the same thing happened at school, with the piano teacher and the English teacher – they were all convinced and determined that they were the best possible example to follow.

“None of them looked at me as one should look at a man, but as if they were looking in a mirror.

“So I decided to enter this asylum. At least here I can be myself.’

Do you know ? .........It is in India (Kolkata)

How many times we would have gone to Kolkata and yet to see this Grand ! ( I am one )

http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/453/banyantree005.jpg

The Great Banyan is a banyan tree (Ficus benghalensis) located in Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose indian botanic garden, Howrah, near Kolkata, India. It is a widest tree in the world, in terms of the area of the canopy and is estimated anout 200 to 250 years old. It became deceased after it was struck by lightning, so, in 1925 the middle of the tree was excised to keep the reminder healthy:this has left it as a colonial colony, rather than a single tree. A 330 k. long road was built around its circumference, but the tree continues to spread beyond it.

http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/7458/banyantree006.jpg

History and Description.

The Great Banyan Tree is aver 250 years old and in spread it is  the largest known in India, perhaps in Asia. There is no clear history of the tree, but it is mentioned in some travel books of the nineteenth century. IKt was damaged by two great cyclones in 1884 and 1886, when some of its main branches were broken and exposed to the attack of hard fungus. With its large number of aerial roots , The Great banyan looks more like a forest than an individual tree. The tree now lives without its main trunk, which decayed and was removed in 1925. The circumference of original trunk was 1.7 m. and from the ground was 15.7m. The area occupied the tree is about 14500 square metres (about 1.5 hectacre or 4 acres) The present crown of the tree has a circumference of about 1 kilometre and the highest branch rises to about 25 m: it has at present 2880 aerial roots reaching down to the ground.

Good one.........read on

 http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/610/ajimpremji.jpg

Wipro Chairman Mr. Azim premji's   comment on Reservation:

Good one..read on....

I think we should have job reservations in all the fields.

I completely support the PM and all the politicians for promoting this. Let's start the reservation with our cricket team.
We should  have 10 percent reservation for Muslims.
30 percent for OBC, SC/ST like that.
Cricket rules should be modified accordingly.
The  boundary circle should be reduced
for an SC/ST player.
The four hit by an SC/ST/OBC player should be considered as a six and a six hit  by a SC/ST/OBC player should be counted as 8 runs.

An SC/ST/OBC player scoring  60 runs should be declared as a century. We should influence ICC and make rules so that the pace bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar should  not bowl fast balls to our SC/ST/OBC player.
Bowlers should bowl maximum  speed of 80 kilometer per hour to an SC/ST/OBC player.
Any delivery  above this speed should be made illegal.

Also we should have reservation in Olympics.
In the 100 meters  race, an SC/ST/OBC player should be given a gold medal if he runs 80 meters.

There can be such reservation in Government jobs also.
Let's recruit  SC/ST and OBC pilots for aircrafts which are carrying the Ministers and Politicians (that can really help the country.. )

Ensure that only SC/ST and OBC doctors do the operations for the Ministers and other politicians. (Another way of saving the  country..)

Let's be creative and think of ways and means to guide INDIA

Let's show the world that INDIA is a GREAT country. Let's be proud of being a
INDIAN..
sent by Mr. Bhaskaran Sivaraman

I have received a mail from a friend of mine, that this is not an authentic one. Perhaps, this statement was made by Mr.Azim Premji, may  not be authentic. But the matter is very authentic, from the fact, a comment received from an affected person which is below (Second one). Hence I retain it with a hope that this has got to be seriously discussed. Though Mr. Abraham Lincoln fought for Black's rights in America, he never created reservation for them. He got them all the rights and told them to get deserve for betterment. And today a black is the President of USA

Azim Premji has conveyed the bitter truth, eventhough in a lighter vein. In case of Doctors, it actually happened in Gujarat about two decades back when an SC Surgeon was not getting any cases referred to him in Govt. Civil Hospital. Even SC/ST patients were opting for other surgeons. He made a representation to the Govt. that 10% of surgery cases should be referred to him only. Someone then remarked in Secretariat that let the Health Minister and other SC/ST Ministers be the first in the line!! But would they? Reservations and roster accelerated promotions have reached an utter absurdity with incompetenet and corrupt SC/ST occupying important positions, a Cl.IV 10 years back getting promoted to Cl.I wheras the ClII officer under whom he was a peon continues as ClII, now reporting to his former peon. The ubiquitous Meena-s in IAS and all Cl.I posts are really noit ST as classified under British Rule. Blaram Jhakar while contesting for Lok Sabha, promised the Meena-s that they would be included in ST if he got elected and got them "in". All over India, you find Meena ClI officers and many of them totally corrupt, and in the village in Rajasthan, almost every house has one or more Cl.I officers in position and a recent UPSC result showed the second generation Meena, the fifth Cl I officer in the family!! Nehru wanted Reservation only for 10 years. Ambedkar too limited the reservation to 10 years as he did not want SC to be on crutches all the while. But the Congress had other ideas and the entire backbone of bureaucracy is damaged by such incompetent and corrupt officers all over India.

If the Govt. warns to uplift the SC,ST or OBC they may give them facilities like low interest rate for houses, and give them heft salary ( this is also not justiciable but for comparison) but putting them ahead in promotions not only causes heartburn but stunts the performance of the victim. This happened in my case also as in my later years I had to report to the peon who served under me for many years. Incredible India?

Stotra to excel in studies - 2

Hope you remember my posting on the above subject, which was in English. Few readers wanted the same in Sanskrit scripts so that you don't mis pronounce it. I requested my relative, Ms. Aparna Ganapathi, M.A in Sanskrit and at present in USA,, and this is the reply I got from her. Let me thank her on your behalf.
"I am attaching the Sanskrit version of the Saraswati hymn as asked by you.  Saraswati.pdf has the English and Sanskrit slokas and Saraswati1.pdf has only the Sanskrit version.

I have done the transliteration to the best of my ability and thoroughly checked it for any errors.  There are at least 2 places where I have given my interpretation of the sloka in the given context instead of the direct transliteration.  Could you also please check it once, if you have the chance.  Hope your blog readers find it useful.
