When I read this I could not control my laugh. I am sure you will also.
The Ticket checker said that he could not understand Hindi or Bihari so it would be nice if Laloo explained the whole situation to him in English.

My diary 15th July 2010
Do you recognise her? This is Ms. Sivapriya krishnan, who wrote the famous "Iyengar Airlines" which I posted in this blog. You may be aware she is multi talented one, and she is giving a music concert tomorrow ( 16th July 2010) between 5.00 and 6.30 P.M at Dhakshinamurthy Auditorium, P.S. High School Mylapore. Why don't you join me?
Laugh ! That is good for health
I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other stall saying:
'Hi, how are you?'
I'm not the type to start a conversation in the restroom and I don't know what got into me, but I answered, somewhat embarrassed,
'Doin' just fine!'
And the other person says:
'So what are you up to?'
What kind of question is that? At that point, I'm thinking this is too bizarre so I say:
'Uhhh, I'm like you, just traveling!'
At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question.
'Can I come over?'
Ok, this question is just too weird for me but I figured I could just be polite and end the conversation. I tell them
'No..I'm a little busy right now!!!'
Then I hear the person say nervously...
'Listen, I'll have to call you back. There's an idiot in the next stall who keeps answering all my questions

Play wise, play fool to achieve your goal
There once lived a great mathematician in a village outside Ujjain. He was often called by the local king to advice on matters related to the economy. His reputation had spread as far as Taxila in the North and Kanchi in the South. So it hurt him very much when the village headman told him, "You may be a great mathematician who advises the king on economic matters but your son does not know the value of gold or silver."
The mathematician called his son and asked, "What is more valuable - gold or silver?" "Gold," said the son. "That is correct. Why is it then that the village headman makes fun of you, claims you do not know the value of gold or silver? He teases me every day. He mocks me before other village elders as a father who neglects his son. This hurts me. I feel everyone in the village is laughing behind my back because you do not know what is more valuable, gold or silver. Explain this to me, son."
So the son of the mathematician told his father the reason why the village headman carried this impression. "Every day on my way to school, the village headman calls me to his house. There, in front of all village elders, he holds out a silver coin in one hand and a gold coin in other. He asks me to pick up the more valuable coin. I pick the silver coin. He laughs, the elders jeer, everyone makes fun of me. And then I go to school. This happens every day. That is why they tell you I do not know the value of gold or silver."
The father was confused. His son knew the value of gold and silver, and yet when asked to choose between a gold coin and silver coin always picked the silver coin. "Why don't you pick up the gold coin?" he asked. In response, the son took the father to his room and showed him a box. In the box were at least a hundred silver coins. Turning to his father, the mathematician's son said, "The day I pick up the gold coin the game will stop. They will stop having fun and I will stop making money."
The bottom line is
Sometimes in life, we have to play the fool because our seniors and our peers, and sometimes even our juniors like it. That does not mean we lose in the game of life. It just means allowing others to win in one arena of the game, while we win in the other arena of the game. We have to choose which arena matters to us and which arenas do not.

Adil Shahriyar, son of Muhammad Yunus (close family friend and advisor to Mrs Indira Gandhi, at whose place Rajiv Gandhi's brother Sanjay's wedding was solemnised) was tried in a US Federal Court by a jury, and convicted on a five count indictment and sentenced in 1982 by District Court to 35 years hard labour in prison for trying to blow up a ship, illegal possession of firearms and carrying them across State borders
and drug trafficking.
He appealed to the 11th Circuit US Court of Appeals which rejected the appeal on 21 November 1983 saying, "We find that the evidence presented at trial was sufficient to support the verdicts and therefore affirm the district court's denial of the motion for judgment of acquittal"
Rajiv Gandhi became PM on 31st October 1984. It was just at that time 3rd/4th December 1984 -- that the infamous and catastrophic Bhopal gas tragedy shook the world.
Warren Anderson, the American CEO of Union Carbide, the company whose plant it was in Bhopal, was indicted and imprisoned at Bhopal, a little later.
Reagan was the US President at the time!
Warren Anderson is freed by Rajiv Gandhi and, by great coincidence, Adil Shahriyar was granted Presidential pardon "as a goodwill gesture", and freed. He went back to his doting father, Mohammad Yunus.
Anderson flew back to the US.
Anderson's departure from Bhopal was not a stealthy one. He flew out on the official plane of the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Arjun Singh, to Delhi, where he was reportedly granted audience by everyone from top bureaucrats to Cabinet Ministers to the PM and even the President.

Knocking came a cop at my doorstep requesting me to come to the police station and collect the FIR.....

Did you write your experience about how the account was hacked and how you got it back? If it's available, it is of great use to everyone.
One of my friend Mr. Bhaskaran thought this is genuine, and he sent a mail offering help to me. Since the hacker was getting the mails addressed to me forwarded to him, he received the mail and replied to him like this.

A Tamil Brahmin Iyer's plight as a poem
ஓர் அய்யரின் புலம்பல்
IYER POEM..A time line of Iyer life
Age: 6 Months
All these mamas and maamis have come here...
For a grand welcome of their new born fellow Iyer...
And my parents will feed food to me with a ring...
And give me a name long enough for you to sing...
(Krishnamoorthy Venkataraghava krishna Doraiswamy,
but will simply call me Dorai!)
Age: 10 years
Topping my class is an inborn talent I possess
(We are an exception)
Teachers & relatives, whom I never fail to impress
Daily dosage of idli, dosai, sambar, rice and curd
Who on earth do you think will not turn into a nerd(hehe)
Age: 22 Yrs
(Just after graduation.. . preferably Electronics Engineering)
Yipeee Yipeee Yipeee... I completed my BE in IIT...
Also got a call from Infy...Ya right...Narayana Murthy...
( Proud fellow...Southie ! )
Up & Away to Bangalore by the next morning flight...
And then someday to USA...Yay Yay Yay...Onsite. ..
(You are right... rhyming no?!)
Age: 26 Years
(Single status in USA)
It has been four long years since I have come here...
And not a single girl who is ready to come near...
Here in United States I thought I'd get laid...
Down came crashing, the dreams that I'd made...
Age: 30 Years
(8 yrs Onsite, somewhere in USA)
I miss my sambhar rice and the tasty thair saadam(curd rice)
Will speak to amma to find me a homely madam...
Will leave for Thirunelveli on a 30 day leave...
And come back with a maami right up my sleeve...
Age: 45 Years
(Still onsite, we think)
I have two kids, but there is a gripping fear...
Both of them have no signs of being an Iyer...
Krishnaswamy & Sreemahalakshmi I named them fondly...
But Chris & Sally I call them if I want them to even reply...
Age: 60 Years
(retire hogaya baap)
I am back to Thirunelveli with my ever faithful wife...
But my kids stayed there and think I don't have a life...
Tirupati, Guruvayoor, Shabarimala all we've been to...
Sun TV is our faithful friend which we always turn to...
Age: 75 years
(Now everything seems impossible)
Ayyayyo, what happened to all my dreams?
They have all simply turned into screams.
Children have already married and divorced thrice,
Playing with our grandchildren would've been nice.
Left with us are only aches and pains,
Life is full of only losses, with no gains.
Are we going to be the last of the brilliant Iyer generation?
To our children, tradition and culture are only a botheration!

nAradA said...- Well, damned if you do and damned if you don't when it comes to Tambrahma. In India you get crushed unless you get gold medals at top universities or IITs. If you migrate to US, it is like heaven in the early years but you get corroded in due course and your children get more americanized than the average american. It is a lose/lose proposition for the iyer. Does he deserve it? On the other hand who says you can have it all?
